As a member of the highly acclaimed Wedding Photojournalist Association (www.wpja.com)I get to enter competitions with images that are by nature story telling images. As the WPJA is a global association these contests, which occur quarterly, are hotly contended. I was therefore very excited to learn that my image was placed 4th in the weather category. For me this is a remarkable achievement as it was up against a huge amount of entrants from all over the world. Only 2 other UK photographers managed to get their images placed in all the other categories.
My image was taken from a wedding at Kitley House, this image was from the church ceremony in Dartmouth.
Heres what the Judges said
JUDGES COMMENTS: Likewise another dark somber wedding that’s made even more dramatic by the foliage in the foreground. Could only work in b&w.
This photo looks a bit like the opening of a British film. The texture of the groundcover is really nice. The first car is caught nicely between those two trees. There’s something about this photograph that just puts you right there in those woods and makes you shiver from the damp of the rain.
